Disaster Avoidance and Recovery
According to recent news reports, rolling blackouts are going to be an issue throughout the summer. Protecting one of your organization's most precious assets may be as simple as making a phone call to Creative Computer Services. Our consultants can help you ensure the safety of your data and equipment through a detailed review of your existing Data Backup System, Backup Power Supply and Virus Protection System.

Your Data Backup System typically involves a tape drive on the server or a workstation along with software configured for automatic or manual backups of your data and systems. Our review process includes checking your existing data backup system and verifying the files stored on your backup tapes, to help ensure that you will always have the most current data available if you need to restore data from a tape.

The network's power supply is typically surge protectors and backup batteries. Our consultants can review the power demands of your network server, workstations and peripheral devices. They will check your server UPS (un-interruptible power supply) for size and condition and check for any Powerchute software configuration issues. A properly configured UPS will protect your systems from low and high voltage issues and make sure that you have sufficient time to safely shut down your systems should the need arise. Un-interruptable power supplies are also available with sufficient battery power to keep your servers up during a typical 2 hour rolling blackout.

The third piece of this puzzle is Anti-virus software. By now almost every office is connected to the internet. Files and email that enter your office from your connection to the Net can carry malicious programs called viruses. If you have virus protection software installed our consultants will check the configuration of the software, and if you own the rights, download the newest virus definitions. If you do not own virus protection software, they can advise you on the best program for your needs and arrange for you to get a quote for it.

Finally, our consultant can review with you your processes, to determine if any mission critical stations require additional protection. Each of these steps is critical to help protect your investment in equipment We not only want to protect from power and data loss but the loss of productivity as well.

If you would like to enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you have taken the steps necessary to help keep your office productive and to protect your precious assets, please call the CCS Help Desk to get a quote for these services.
